The washed and combed wool (similar as cotton) will be soddened with hot soap-water, and then it will be patted really carefully, without any pressure. After a few moments, you can feel, how the wool slowly compresses, the size of the object will be smaller and smaller. In line with this it can be patted and kneaded stronger and stronger, till the object reaches the wished consistence (the felt blanket on the Asian steppes are made without soap and horse-drawn rolled). After this the soap should be flushed out and dried adjusting to form (this happens to the wool-jumper at the washing machine, that’s why it will be harder and smaller).
